Accomodation for relatives - a home for a while
Teddyhaus Vienna
The Pediatric Heart Center in Vienna tries to accommodate one parent in the room of the little patient if possible.
If this is not possible, rooms are available for the accompanying persons in the "parent accommodation" in the hospital.
The number of these rooms is limited, however, and so parents are often forced to look for accommodation elsewhere for the duration of the child's hospital stay. Expensive hotels are usually out of the question.
We have established the "Teddy House Vienna" for moms, dads and siblings only a "bear's jump" away from the Pediatric Heart Center Vienna - a residential unit with 8 apartments. An oasis for sleeping, showering and gaining renewed strength, which we can offer to the heart families for the duration of their stay in hospital.
It is important, especially during treatment before and after an operation, that parents or close relatives have the opportunity to be by their children's side around the clock.

Office opening hours: Monday to Friday: 9.00 am – 1:00 pm
On-call duty outside of opening hours (only by telephone): Michaela Altendorfer - 0664/ 520 09 31
Check-in: possible around the clock, after prior arrangement
Check-out: 10:00 am (later departure only possible after consultation with the housemother)
Room incl. breakfast: € 15/night for members, € 20/night for non-members
Parking: yes, by prior reservation (€ 3,50/day)
Bed linen & towels: available (€ 5 extra)
Washing machine & dryer: available (€ 1,50/use)
Other: Smoking prohibited (smoking area ONLY in the garden), no pets, night rest from 10:00 pm onwards.
